Struck Me at My Core
I was browsing a store a few weeks ago when I came across wall decor. I saw a sign with a saying that said something along the lines of someone is praying for the very things you take for granted. Ouch. It made me reflect on my life in all its chaos and glory and appreciate what I do have. I do not have the perfect husband, but I do have one. I do not have the cleanest house, but I have one. My children don't sleep through the night as newborns and it is exhausting, but at least I have the blessing of being a mother to healthy and beautiful children. May your eyes be opened to the blessings you have that someone else may be praying for. May you see the blessings for what they truly are.

Music That Moves Me
I've had the Moana soundtrack playing on repeat in my car for a few months now. It's great having children, because I can say they are the reason I have Moana playing constantly.... However, in reality, it's me that probably enjoys the music the most! One of my favorite songs is I Am Moana. It moves me! I feel it in my soul. The words are beautiful. I hope that my family and ancestors see me in similar fashion. I hope they say that I stand apart from the crowd, that I make my whole family proud. I hope that my scars continue to heal and reveal where I am. The people I love have changed me. The things I have learned guide me. I need to listen to that quiet voice inside me and realize I have come so far. "Do you know who you are?" I'm still trying to find out who I am and what my mission is on earth. I am seeking. One of my favorite lines is "and the call isn't out there at all it's inside me". I've felt I'm missing something in my life. I'm not sure what it is and I have been seeking so many outside sources of knowledge looking for the answer, but the answer is not "out there" it's inside me. When I find it I will carry it in my heart and it will remind me, that come what may, I know the way. I am Sheena!
Gramma Tala: I know a girl from an island
She stands apart from the crowd
She loves the sea and her people
She makes her whole family proud
Sometimes the world seems against you
The journey may leave a scar
But scars can heal and reveal just
Where you are
The people you love will change you
The things you have learned will guide you
And nothing on Earth can silence
The quiet voice still inside you
And when that voice starts to whisper
Moana, you've come so far
Moana, listen
Do you know who you are?
Moana: Who am I?
I am the girl who loves my island
I'm the girl who loves the sea
It calls me
I am the daughter of the village chief
We are descended from voyagers
Who found their way across the world
They call me
I've delivered us to where we are
I have journeyed farther
I am everything I've learned and more
Still it calls me
And the call isn't out there at all
It's inside me
It's like the tide, always falling and rising
I will carry you here in my heart
You'll remind me
That come what may, I know the way
I am Moana!
